It's best to check that the HERS rater has a certification number that the owner can verify to make sure the energy reports and audits are valid. Many HERS raters take many shortcuts to get the job done quickly and be on to the next, but Poppy Energy focuses on high quality HERS testing in Granite Bay, CA and everywhere we service customers.

Do I need a HERS Rater for my project?

In new constructions or additions within your city, employing a HERS rater is essential for verifying Quality Insulation Installation (QII) and conducting comprehensive HERS testing. Your Title 24 report, the building contractor, the permit requirements, or your HVAC technician will inform you if the services of a HERS Rater are necessary in Granite Bay, CA.

Quality Insulation Installation (QII) is required for all new residential projects in Granite Bay, CA, when the project is analyzed and compliant using the Prescriptive Method. QII involves a certified Home Energy Rating System (HERS) inspector verifying that the insulation has been installed according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. This ensures proper installation of thermal insulation and proper air sealing, which are crucial for energy efficiency.

The main purpose of QII is to enhance building performance through improved insulation, leading to energy savings, increased comfort, and reduced annual heating and cooling expenses. For projects subject to QII inspection in Granite Bay, CA, this requirement will be indicated in the Compliance Report used to obtain the building permit. It's noted that QII can be one of the more challenging inspections to pass due to various factors, such as lack of detailed planning, experience in insulation labor, and high turnover in the insulation installation field.

If a project requires QII, it's advised to schedule a certified HERS Rater inspection after installing the insulation as per the manufacturer's specifications. The inspector will then verify if the building has been properly insulated and sealed. If any issues are identified, they will provide guidance on necessary corrections, and a follow-up inspection is usually provided without additional charge.

Poppy Energy is equipped to efficiently handle all your QII needs in Granite Bay, CA, ensuring that your project meets the necessary standards and regulations

What a great experience!
WOW, I got my compliance report within 2 days with an explanation of the important parts of the report and how it affects my new house. Since this report was registered, I submitted the Title 24 report and my plans with Sacramento County. No issues there. Paul also stated that they offer QII (Quality Insulation Inspection) that was needed right after the rough in stage stage. Lana came out and did an awesome job with the inspection and made a correction notice for the insulation company to return and fix part of the insulation. Had a very positive experience and would highly recommend Poppy Energy for your new house, ADU or addition.

Kudos to a great team
I knew absolutely nothing about the process of getting a Title 24 report compliance report for my building addition, plus I am not so tech savvy but a phone call with Paul put my mind at rest. He was friendly, attentive and quick to explain the process to me. He was just a call away if I had any questions. My report was completed in a few days. Thank you Paul, you are the best! I’m amazed at how quick and smooth the whole process went. My AC was replaced and needed a quality inspection, so I placed a call. Lana showed up at our door about an hour later, discovered the challenge and had it fixed in no time. I enjoyed a great conversation and made a new friend. Poppy energy came highly recommended from a neighbor. I’ll do well to pass on the recommendation as well.

Showed up within 2 hours
I just had my baby a few weeks back and then my AC unit picked the worst time to fail. After a full HVAC replacement, we needed a full duct test and refrigerant test. I’m especially thankful for the prompt response on a week day though it came in as an emergency. The technician showed up within 2 hours after and did the duct test and refrigerant check in about an hour. Thank you again Lana!

Best HERS raters
They are thus far, the best HERS raters I’ve worked with on any building. After the HVAC was fully installed in the building, the HERS Rater by the name Lana did a thorough job checking through air leakages, improper insulation, energy efficiency and other criteria. The house is declared fit just in time for my parents to move in. A great deal of professionalism and courtesy displayed.

Efficient, Very Thorough and Professional
I moved in newly to California about half a year back and starting a new building project that required that I carried out a Quality Insulation inspection. I found Poppy Energy as a certified HERS Rater on the CalCert website and booked an appointment with them. They were efficient, very thorough and professional. Very Good at What They Do
I’ve used Poppy Energy for my Duct test to my HERS testing to fix an air flow leakage challenge once I found out it was much colder in the attic than inside my home when the AC was on. I must say without bias that they are very good at what they do. The company is great and its employees are always courteous, always willing to help. Thus far, I’ve not had any challenge with their work. Their response time is great and the pricing quite fair. The technicians always take time to troubleshoot, and also explain the cause of repair if need be. I’ll highly recommend them.

Save You Money in the Long Run
When you buy an older house there are always unforeseen problems. Having this 1960’s ranch house had a lot more issues than you would think for a house that isn’t nearly as old as my grandparents. But when you fall in love with the house you gotta be careful of all the little missteps. Having a quality insulation inspection is paramount to find out where and how warm air or cool air are leaking out of your house. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment sooner than later. It will save you more money in the long run.

Top-Notch QII for Our Green Building Project
We're building a net-zero energy home in Davis and needed a HERS rater who truly understood the importance of insulation quality for energy performance. Poppy Energy's QII inspection was meticulous. Their inspector used thermal imaging alongside the visual inspection and documented everything with detailed notes. They caught air gaps around electrical boxes that would have hurt our blower door results later. If you care about building performance, Poppy Energy is the team to call for your QII.

Getting our home addition permitted in Rocklin required a QII inspection and I had no idea where to start. Poppy Energy walked me through the entire process from scheduling to what to expect during the inspection. Their inspector was friendly and efficient, completing everything in under an hour. The report was submitted to the building department electronically and we got our sign-off the same week. Could not have been easier.

I've worked with several HERS raters over the years and Poppy Energy is by far the most knowledgeable when it comes to Quality Insulation Inspection requirements. Saved Us from a Costly Mistake
We hired Poppy Energy for a QII inspection on our 12-unit townhome development in Roseville. Their inspector caught that the insulation contractor had used the wrong R-value batts in several units before the drywall went up. That catch alone saved us thousands in potential rework. The report was detailed and delivered the same day. Outstanding quality insulation inspection service from start to finish.

Thorough and Professional QII
Poppy Energy performed a Quality Insulation Inspection on our new construction home in Folsom. The inspector was incredibly thorough, checking every wall cavity and attic space for proper insulation coverage. He identified a few spots that the insulation crew had missed and got them corrected on the same visit. We passed on the first try thanks to their attention to detail. Highly recommend for any builder needing QII services.

QII Field Verification in Granite Bay, CA

Granite Bay, CA projects may require Quality Insulation Installation (QII) field verification when it appears in the approved California Energy Code compliance documents. QII is commonly requested as a QII inspection. It is an ECC/HERS field-verification service, not a national RESNET HERS Index rating, and it does not replace the building department's inspection.

Placer County projects are typically coordinated through Placer County Building Services, and local scheduling often depends on the exact permit address in ZIP codes 95746. Confirm the permit jurisdiction and the project's listed verification measures before scheduling. The approved documents and applicable QII procedure determine which assemblies must remain accessible and what records the project team must provide.

Granite Bay's hot summers, cool winter nights, and mix of established neighborhoods and new construction make verified envelope and HVAC performance a practical part of California energy compliance. Climate zone affects the compliance design, but it does not create a universal QII requirement. The project-specific compliance documents remain the source of truth.

Poppy Energy coordinates QII field verification in Granite Bay, CA with builders, insulation crews, and energy consultants. Send the current compliance documents and project address so the team can identify the applicable scope and coordinate access before work is concealed.
